We haven't been able to fundraise this year as Mike and the girls were involved in a car accident which has left mike with a bad neck and was unable to train in time. However we have been supporting other people in their fundraising efforts and we're very proud to be able to say we have helped. We do have a fantastic, fitting fundraising event planned for next year for Finn, in memory of Finn and because of Finn. Our little boy has inspired us so much, and continues to alter our minds, hearts, and lives each and every day. So, what we have planned is a ten day cycle ride from Kettering to Scotland (exact destination yet to be decided) to span the ten days of our sons life. Starting from the 11th September Mike will cycle each and every day and has decided that he wants to camp out each night under the stars. Every day Mike will visit a SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) and leave a blue teddy in Finns memory and to show our thanks and appreciation for the fact that without these units we would never have spent the time we did with Finn. Mike will end his cycle on the 21st september, the day I held Finn in my arms as he took his last breath. On this day we are hoping to have a lantern release, not just for Finn but for all babies born too small, or too sick. We appreciate that there are a lot of charities, and we are asked on a daily basis to support this one and that one. However, for those of you that have helped us, supported us and have watched (and are still) us go through the most horrific loss in our lives.... please help us to make this happen. For now I just need to know if anyone would be interested in helping. I/we will need help with the organising, with the fundraising, with the awareness, with getting sponsors, etc etc. There is an awful lot to do and if we have to do it all on our own then we will but.... We would be very grateful for the extra hands!! We are hoping to raise £3000 for BLISS and we really think this is very very achievable if we get cracking now.
